My desire to become a Certified Music Practitioner (CMP) came from looking for a career opportunity that would blend my love for ministering to others, my passion for music, and an income generating occupation.

Imagine having something that can help reduce pain, lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety, stabilize heart rate, increase oxygen saturation, and can regulate stress related hormones
and increase endorphin levels. A CMP is trained as a therapeutic musician and can do all that and much more! Therapeutic music is an art based on the science of sound; it is live, acoustic music, played or sung, specifically tailored to an individual patient’s immediate need, with the ability to bring intrinsic healing properties to the bedside.

I became certified through the Music for Healing and Transition Program. For more information about MHTP see www.musicforhealingandtransitionprogram.org

A CMP's services are used at many facilities such as skilled nursing facilities/nursing homes, all hospital environments, hospice programs, and in assisted living environments.

I have played in a Baylor Scott and White Hospital and the Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. I was privileged to participate as a co-presenter at the National Magnet Conference in 2017.
